The Centre for Development and the Environment (University of Oslo), The Ethics Programme (University of Oslo) and the International Peace Research Institute in Oslo (PRIO) will arrange an international seminar on poverty and conflict in co-operation with the Crown Prince and Crown Princess's Humanitarian Fund.
The seminar will take place in Oslo on the 25th of August, on the occasion of the royal couple's wedding anniversary. It is also on this day every year that the Royal Fund's board announces the annual allocation of funds to specific humanitarian projects in Norway and abroad.
The seminar will focus on the multidimensional aspects of humanitarian assistance and the challenges that humanitarian organisations are confronted with. The topic is inspired by the royal couple's sincere belief in the utility of engaging, even with modest sums of money and limited resources, in the fight to reduce the incidence and impact of poverty and conflict.
The seminar is open for all.
